Leyla F.
I want to be Mayor of SA Smart because I believe I can help our community grow and become even better. As Mayor, I would focus on bringing new ideas and exciting opportunities to everyone. For example, I would work on making sure we have access to the latest technology and tools so we can stay ahead and prepare for the future.
One of my main goals is to make sure everyone feels included and heard. I would organize fun events like game design sessions or team projects where we can share ideas and work together. I think it’s important to listen to everyone’s thoughts and make decisions that benefit all of us.
Being Mayor is not just about leading, it’s about helping. I want to support our community, bring us together, and make SASMART a place where we all feel proud and excited to be a part of.
Antonio V.
I want to be Mayor of SA Smart because I know how to speak up when it’s needed and stand up for what’s right. If I win, I want SA Smart to focus on the infrastructure of San Antonio. This means working on ideas that can improve our roads, buildings, and transportation to make our city a better place for everyone.
As Mayor, I will make sure everyone in SA Smart feels included and has the chance to share their ideas. Together, we can work on creative solutions to make San Antonio stronger and more connected. I want us to be proud of the work we do and the positive changes we can bring to our community.

I want to be Mayor of SA Smart because I know how to speak up when it’s needed and stand up for what’s right. If I win, I want the opportunity to meet with leaders in my community, share my story, and find ways to give back to the city—especially to orphans who need our support the most.

At the core of every single person in this city, I believe lies the desire to be understood and respected. That in the pursuit of innovation and the future, we don’t forget the people along the way. Which is why I'm running for mayor of SA Smart.. I will push for policies that prioritize the student body’s well being first, before anything else. Because in order to properly cultivate a community in which extraordinary things rise from, we must first tend to the soil and our roots using understanding and innovation. Extraordinary things are done whenever we feel at home in a community. The impulse to stand up for your city and improve its quality comes from a deep sense of belonging that I wish to instill in the hearts of every citizen. I will start programs that educate students on how to effectively communicate their needs to a counselor or teacher. And educate them on how to recognize when help is needed.
Opportunities in all different career fields will be offered in schools or in the general community to further education and ignite the passion for learning for all. It’s a personal belief of mine that everyone has something they're good at. Even if it’s not academics. The best work we all individually do is something we personally are passionate about or find interest in. This is why I will implement the kind of education system that allows for personal growth and self-expression. For my city, I will stop at nothing to provide and care for its grounds throughout the length of my mayorship. With student input, and vital conversations on what needs to be improved. I know that we will achieve the shining city we all aim for. One of togetherness and respect.
I will make it my most essential mission. This is a promise to you. The citizens of SA Smart City.
JazlynnN.
Hello. I am Jazlynn N., and I attend Dwight Middle School. I am thirteen years old, and I am the president of the “Just for Girls Club” at our school. My mission for running for mayor of SA Smart is to see the youth walking the streets of San Antonio– happy and full of ambition. I want to accomplish this goal by doing a few things. First, I want to start off by seeing schools allow youth with the same beliefs to come together to build relationships and community within their school. This is important so that they don't feel alone. In today’s society, it is crucial for teenagers to know that there are other teens who have the same beliefs to create community with them as well, not just on Sundays, but all the time. They can find other believers to connect with, and be confident in who they are!
As Mayor, I would also like to see schools allowing youth to have gatherings for middle schoolers to learn about conflict resolution to help them overcome their anxiety. This would be vital to be able to help one another, and to also be able to walk away feeling confident. Another way to accomplish this, is to allow support animals to be a part of this initiative so that teenagers would be better able to be comfortable when they discuss their feelings.

If I were mayor of SA Smart, I would like to see a “Just for Boys Club” and a "Just for Girls Club” in every schools This would provide a safe space where youth can come together and help each other to discuss their future and help teenagers plan their goals– to have something to work for and to look forward to. The program would allow youth to be able to talk about colleges and careers to help raise awareness about future goals and ideas.

If I were mayor of SA Smart, I would like to be able to go to schools to talk about bullying. I want to talk about the effects it has on people. I'm sure people who bully are also the same ones who get bullied inside and outside of school. So, I want to remind them that the words that hurt them can also hurt others and words can last a lifetime. I want to remind youth that they have the choice to show love instead of hate. People want to be reminded about all the good things they have done and not about the bad– because impressions last forever. I also would like to bring a nonprofit organization called “ Bria” to schools to be able to speak to youth about healthy relationships and healthy choices that can help make a great impact on youth.

We could create other initiatives and come together to help clean our city. We could help beautify places like at family parks, help feed the homeless to spread love and kindness, and to give the lost hope for better days. If I were mayor, I would make this a happy place– I don't think I can… I know I can!
Angelica G.
Hello my name is Angelica. I’m a 12 year old female that attends Dwight Middle School. I am a member of the “Just for Girls Club,” an athlete, and a good student! If I was chosen as SA Smart mayor, I would like to help the community with more Recycling Initiates. We would help pick up more trash and help the community stay clean. Having a clean neighborhood that is loved and taken care of, makes it better for teenagers to see a better future. It makes them hopeful and optimistic which is much needed in today’s times.
Another initiative that I would implement is that I would like to promote more education for all teenagers that need an education. Some teenagers are homebound or do not like attending school and would rather do home schooling. We can give those teens that can not go to school other avenues to have access to education–maybe even have tutors that can help them. I have many ideas on how to accomplish this–but my first idea for this initiative is to listen and hear their ideas and concerns. I would have them collaborate and make a plan alongside me.

If I were mayor of SA Smart, I would also like for the community to plant fruits and vegetables. In other words, we would create a community garden. We would give foods that we grow to people that can’t afford any food to eat. People can go on the weekends to plant fruits and vegetables with their families to ensure that the community garden is well taken care of. We would plan the location of the community garden together so that everyone has a voice in their garden.

If elected as SA Smart Mayor, I would initiate much needed changes to help and serve my community!
